TBC Trust also represents the interests of the Proprietors of Tasman Bay Christian School, a State-Integrated Christian School in Tasman, Nelson. Tasman Bay Christian School is situated in a beautiful rural location 11 km on the Nelson side of Motueka. We have modern facilities and plenty of room for children to learn and play both inside and outside. We currently have three classrooms (complete with teachers!), as well as Teacher Aides, a Secretary, and other support people.
We “teach Christianly,” which means that we integrate Christian beliefs, values and standards into every aspect of our school life. We use the New Zealand Curriculum to deliver a high quality education from a biblical perspective and undertake not to compromise our Christian beliefs in the process. We strive to help students integrate the Christian faith with their wider education so they can go into the world as passionate ambassadors of Christ.
We provide free bus transport from the Motueka, Moutere, Mapua, Appleby and Richmond areas, so your children get safely to and from school each day. In addition to the school facilities, we also have access to a large church facility next door to the school for larger “whole school” indoor activities.
What Is Christian Education?
A Christian education is one in which the Word of God underpins our learning. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10). A Christian education seeks to holistically present what it means to learn and grow in a world that was created by God. It also encourages students to consider biblical truth at a personal level and to help students understand what it means to live for God in the world He created.
Why Christian Education?
The Bible does not contain all knowledge or all truth, but it does form the foundation from which all knowledge and truth springs. When we exclude God from the classroom, we effectively admit that God can be safely ignored when it comes to learning about ourselves—what it means to be human and to live well in our world. Children need a challenging, comprehensive academic curriculum built on a foundation of biblical absolutes in order to learn as God intends. They also need to be able to look to those who teach them as biblical and godly examples of what it means be a Christian and live in a way that pleases God.
Student Scholarship Fund
TBC Trust oversees the Tasman Bay Christian School Student Scholarship Fund, receives applications for scholarships, and allocates finances to help children from lower income families attend without facing undue hardship. Money donated to the fund is invested as capital, and left to build up over time. The Trust is able to use a portion of the earned interest annually to fund student scholarships, which means the impact of gifts given for this purpose will last for decades to come. All such gifts qualify as charitable donations for the purpose of tax returns.

Most Christians want to make a difference in the lives of others. Investing in Christian education is one way to make a difference in young lives for generations to come. Tasman Bay Christian School has a student scholarship fund that is designed to help low income families cover the cost of giving their children a high quality, Christian education. Funds donated are held in trust and invested in ethical and secure portfolios. Only the profits on these investments will be distributed in the form of scholarships. This policy allows the scholarship fund to continue supporting students into the future without diminishing the capital donated.
How can I help?
General Gifts: Money donated to the fund is invested as capital and left to build over time. The Trust is able to use the majority of interest earned annually to fund student scholarships, which means the impact of your gift will impact generations of students. All such gifts qualify as charitable donations for the purpose of tax returns.
Bequests: These gifts are activated via a will in the event of your death. Writing your will can be a relatively simple process, but we always recommend you seek professional advice. Simple errors in wording can create confusion and delays in carrying out your wishes. It is important you include the full name of the charity—Tasman Bay Christian Trust—together with our registered charity number which is CC20348.
Residue: Once you have provided for your loved ones, you may wish to leave the remainder (residue) or a percentage of your estate to the Tasman Bay Christian School Student Scholarship Fund.
Specified Sum or Assets: You may prefer to leave a specific amount of money, real estate, shares, bonds, items or a nominated gift to the Tasman Bay Christian School Student Scholarship Fund.
